Puerto Rico! What can I say about this tropical Island beauty, situated in the Caribbean sea that has not already been said before? Well first off this is home for me and originally started off as a relocation trip from San Antonio Texas.

Going to Puerto Rico for me was more of a home coming trip and finding my roots sort of speak, for being Puerto Rican its a subtle look other "Ricans" give you when they ask you where you from? For typically New York, and Chicago are where most of us go once we get off the island, so when I say I was born in California I get "Da-Look" lol

"Have you BEEN to Puerto Rico?" is usually the follow up question I would always get so when the opportunity came for me to actually live there, I went for it..

The flight from Texas to San Juan was truly pleasant, flight over the water and seeing the an oasis of other islands was truly amazing to see. I landed at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Isla Verde was my first stop before heading to Condado, a short drive.

The traffic was out of this world and the drivers were on another level, for stopping at street lights after midnight was merely a suggestion rather than a law, and of course Spanish is the main language and spoken 98% of the time depending on what part of the Island you happen to be on. I was quickly reminded that I wasn't in the USA anymore when I tried to order a meal in English.

Condado reminded me of Miami Beach for some reason but being there for such a long time that comparison quickly wore off. the Island life is slow LOUD and fast paced all at the same time. Slow for the simple reason its a relaxed feel to everything done from work to leisure activities, I liked it it was very refreshing, like just enjoy the moment. LOUD for the music the dance and the sheer laughter of Proud Puerto Ricans are prevalent from all the flags waving. .

I lived in the Heart of Condado about 2 miles from the beach, my main focus was fitness and at the time there was only 1 GOLDS gym on the whole Island at that time, I taught a few classes at this Spa Gym called Zen Spa, they have 4 locations to serve you.

This place is phenomenal and definitely forward thinking people who developed this beautiful place. They took the combination of a gym and spa and fuzzed it together to create the wonderful Zen Spa. Overlooking the ocean get a relaxing massage or hit the weights on the spacious gym they have on the second floor, on the way out grab a bit to eat before heading out for your day.
