The drive from Scottsdale to Puerto Penasco or Rocky Point as its often called is roughly 3 hours and 51 minutes and of course that all depending on how fast you drive, but keep in mind the drive is very remote and often times lonely, we saw nothing for MILES and MILES, it was almost calming and the closer we got to Mexico, the less street lights we saw, the darker it got and the roads became more narrow, the way we kept focus on the road was by having great conversation and the occasional singalongs with the music playing, oh and by looking at GPS to make sure we weren't lost helped too. Word to the wise.. Always follow the posted speed limit,(in kilometers so know your conversions) have proper Mexican Insurance (Yes that's what is called and advertised as) because you DO NOT wanna get a ticket or an accident in Mexico!

I would also advise anyone taking the 3 hour trip to leave when the sun is still up because if you leave later in the afternoon it WILL get dark and the roads are pitch black. Thank goodness when we crossed the boulder it was still pretty well light, but when we actually arrives at the resort it was windy dark and we could tell where the water was from the road, so leave in the morning or early afternoon.

The view in the morning from the room was Incredible and the sound from the waves crashing against the shore had a soothing effect on your soul. This is how relaxation is suppose to be!

Too be continued..
