My journey began at a young age, 7 years old from what I remember and it just made scene, for father had worked and later retired 36 years from United Airlines and so taking a plane to me was like catching a bus.

My first big trip over the water was to Hawaii, and later that became our go to destination spot every summer for the next several years. If I look back on my young travel days at such at that young age I probably didn't appreciate the adventures my parents where exposing me to which would later on in life increase my appetite for the world, its food and the cultures this planet has to offer.

he reason I say "Probably didn't appreciate it" was because I would reluctantly say "Hawaii again" I didn't want to leave my friends for yet another summer, boy what was I thinking about..

Going back to the Island it became familiar to me, the streets, the people and the many sites, like we could drive down the street and I would know where we were headed, the only thing I didn't know was what adventure was waiting for us on the other side of the road..

You’ll be posting loads of engaging content, so be sure to keep your blog organized with Categories that also allow visitors to explore more of what interests them.

In this blog I am going to take you on a journey through the pages of my diary travels to Hawaii and the many sites we took in, enjoy them they way I did while I was there. If something sticks out please let me know, leave e a comment send me a message and I will be sure to get you to the right people to make your trip to the island just as enjoyable. After a 5 hour 25 minute flight over the Pacific Ocean one cant wait to place their feet on solid ground, I was getting tired of going to the bathroom, one can only drink so much carbonated drinks, we took a quick shuttle to our hotel.. My parents lover the Sheraton Hotel on Waikiki and I must say they took great care of us during our week stay.

The view was incredible and I could see water for miles from the hotel room, on this trip my uncle came along with us, he was a hoot and was wild fun, so I knew this trip would be special just having my uncle Lloyd with us. Make sure you have your room key with you because the doors at the Sheraton close and lock immediately after leaving and its very embarrassing to walk to the lobby of the adjacent room to let you in for a bathrobe LOL! Yes this really happen.

We didn't stay too long in our rooms and why would you, your on the Island where Elvis called his second home(he didn't) but this is where he made the movie "Blue Hawaii! that was thrilling enough if your Elvis fans like many Hawaiians at the time of his Hey-Day.

Our first tour stop was to the local shopping areas, gotta get those souvenirs out the way first, than then enjoy you trip, that's one trick I learned from my parents, get that stuff out the way ASAP so you don't have to rush getting last minute items, cause you will always forget someone. Next was Diamond Head National Park! Get this! This is an actual volcano crater that they build a national park above it. YEAH! creepy and thrilling all at the same time, cause your mind think's at ANY moment this thing could come back to life and swallow you whole.

of course it doesn't happen and you begin your hike! What’s inside the Diamond Head Crater? Known by Hawaiians as Lēʻahi, this Honolulu crater is a icon of Hawaii. It is a United States Monument and has some sections open and some sections closed to the public. The closed part of the crater is used by the United States for several antennae arrays.

Inside the crater its used to be Fort Ruger, which was the first US military reservation on the islands. Additionally, a shuttered air traffic control center operated on the interior of Diamond Head until 2001. Today, the inside of Diamond Head houses the Hawaii State Civil Defense and a National Guard facility. The hike is really adventurous and if one isn't use to exercise it could be a challenge but for most it was enjoyable. My highlight was walking through the tunnel SUPER DARK but on the opposite end is this wonderful view, take plenty of pictures once you reach the top.

The view is remarkable very therapeutic actually, its easy to get captures by the beauty of this wonderful island and you forget you in the middle of a volcano. Its funny but its really a healing trail, for it was then and it is now. One thing I wish I would of had and I always forget each time I go is binoculars. This would of just added to the effect of the magnitude of this place. So the next time you are on the Island of Oahu you must add Diamond Head National Park to your list.
